Environment & Space

First project of my third year. We had to design an exhibition and catalogue for the Design Museum’s Tank (the glass box that sits outside it on the south bank) The exhibition itself revolved around a collection of ours, I decided to use my collection of bank notes. My course has now focused more on concept than beauty. Make sure it’s beautiful, but the concept has to be strong and come first. My concept for this project was looking at the people or images depicted on a selection of notes and weighing up their ‘value’. I would look to current events and my own opinion for inspiration and use satire to alter each note to give it a new meaning.

The best thing is, my catalogue was selected, along with three of my peers, by the Design Museum. I means I get to go to the Design Overtime on the 20th of Jan for free and I think could be showcased by them at some point, somewhere, sometime.

So surprised at being chosen, especially since there was such a high standard in my class.
